The Basement of Forgotten Bikes

Have you forgotten your faithful two-wheeler?

There are five orphaned bikes in storage in the basement: two kids bikes, a mountain bike, a cruiser and a vintage bike. If you have been missing your bike, let us know at the blog or contact management (though they will be away until June).

I am considering an auction for the unclaimed bikes with the proceeds going to the coop reserve.

  1. Yes, who ever you are I agree, it would be nice to clean things up down there. A mailing or sign by the mail box may be more appropriate given that not every checks the blog. I was thinking of putting a fairly decent bike down there but was concerned about security. Has anyone had and bad experiences with thievery or vandalism?

  3. I think the bikes are pretty safe if they are locked up in the secured storage areas. There is a fee for locking up your bike on the bike rack but I can't remember exactly what it is ($25 sounds likely . . .). I did have a bike stolen out of the basement but it was in hung high up on a rack in the hallway (since removed) but it wasn't locked so I guess it was easy pickings. I'd had it since the early eighties and it had a couple flat tires but still . . .

  5. Yes, one mystery solved! If you would like to reunite your daughter with her bike, contact Pamela in 2N or Ramon they will get the bike out of storage for you.

  6. I think the storage is more like $150! $25 would be MUCH better. Also, the red one is mine, but I like that black one better, anyone want to trade? :)

  7. Ahh. Another mystery solved. The black bike is pretty sweet and I have had my covetous eyes on it but, alas, it has been claimed by a recent shareholder who hasn't been around much. Contact Pam about the red bike -- I think she thinks it belongs to someone who has left the building (literally, not figuratively).
